The Physics of Racing

Recently I enjoyed a conversation over lunch with a few co-workers about race cars, suspension setup, unsprung weight, etc. Which brought to mind a series of articles I read eight or nine years ago which were a detailed and thorough analysis of auto racing, with a strong emphasis on the mathematics and physics of it all. Fortunately the articles are still available on the Internet from several sources (yes, Google is my friend!), here’s one:
