About
Welcome to my blog!
My name is Rich Gay. I post on a variety of subjects — technology, politics, or whatever else is on my mind. Please use the comments to give me feedback, disagree, or cheer me on.
A Brief Bio
I’m 52 years old, with a wonderful family — wife Michele, pretty, smart, and a great mom; son Alex, my pride and joy; and stepdaughter Lindsay, a beautiful yet challenging teenager, proving there is payback for my teen years.
I founded Foresight Technology, Inc. in 1988, and grew that business over the next ten years with the help of Steve Antonakes, my partner, and many great employees. We did consulting and custom database application development, and also developed and published plugins and developer tools for the 4th Dimension relational database application environment. It was a great business, we had a lot of fun, and I learned so much, but after ten years, I was ready for a change, so I sold the company.
Between 1997 and 2003 I was the IT Director for two great companies, All Covered and Linbeck Construction.
I’m currently the Director of Engineering with a great company (I won’t say which one) near Sacramento, California, and enjoying everything the area has to offer – skiing, backpacking, camping, and great roads for riding my motorcycle. I’m a past Scoutmaster and current Assistance Scoutmaster for Troop 1855 in Folsom, CA, and my son and I enjoy doing Boy Scout activities together.
My wife Michele is a co-owner of EpicTri, and a certified triathlon coach.
