Lots and lots of snow

The Sierra’s are getting hammered… I’m looking forward to some amazing skiing in the next few weeks.

WOW…. An absolutely epic storm is about to hammer the region today through Sunday night, and after a break Monday… more heavy snow is expected Tuesday. If you have been wanting to experience the deepest powder around, Tahoe will have it in the coming days. For today we see extremely heavy snowfall, and snow levels dropping to near 6,500 feet, and to 3,500 feet tonight after a cold front passage… This storm combines deep and extremely copius moisture, strong dynamics, and extremely strong winds, that happen to be oriented in the best direction for very strong orographics. Driving around today is not ba good idea, with blizzard conditions expected. Heaviest snow is expected this afternoon through tonight, and it will be measured in feet after the snow reporters dig out…
