Rich, as you are getting older, like Reader's Digest, you are suffering from hardening of the articles.

Here's Iraq before we invaded: a nasty dictatorship which, on all available evidence, excluded both Shiite and Sunni terrorists.

Here's Iraq after we invaded: an academy for training both Shiite and Sunni terrorists, inspiration for jihadists, racked by civil war and gangs of thugs.

And remember we ended up in Iraq because of a series of lies^h^h^h^h faulty intelligence.

Now, having created a further mess, Hansen says if we leave it is the moral equivalent of Neville Chamberlain? Please.

I've seen the movie. I spend a lot of time with the folks who are studying the impact of global warming, especially the impact in the Arctic. It's real. It's very serious. The undeniable consensus among the scientists who study this is that global warming is happening and that CO2 is a major contributor.

But if you are part of the minority who are still on the big river in Africa, consider the pot odds: if there is doubt, which is going to be cheaper over the enxt 50 years? Fixing the problem now or taking the chance of the kinds of consequences that could result?

Rich,

But I thought it was George Bush's failed Middle East Policy that brought us to the Brink of Madness?

This guy Victor Davis Hansen seems to want to blame the crime on the criminal. Doesn't he realize that we should be looking at what the victim did to cause the crime to be committed.

<a href="http://www.wired.com/news/wireservice/0,71260-0.html?tw=rss.index" rel="nofollow">from the AP</a>

The nation's top climate scientists are giving An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's documentary on global warming, five stars for accuracy.

The former vice president's movie -- replete with the prospect of a flooded New York City, an inundated Florida, more and nastier hurricanes, worsening droughts, retreating glaciers and disappearing ice sheets -- mostly got the science right, said all 19 climate scientists who had seen the movie or read the book and answered questions from The Associated Press.

Rich,

I read these articles. I find them to be very credible rebuttles to Al Gore's warnings of climate catastrophe. In fact, if someone was looking for a credible rebuttle to Al Gore's warnings of climate catastrophe I would point them right to your site.

The other day I read a post from a liberal who cried that we would all be better off if Gore had won the election in 2000.

I have to agree. Things are terrible. I don't know if I can go on.

I am apalled that under George Bush the unemployment rate is under 5%, we have created millions of new jobs, infaltion is in check, we have lowered taxes yet brought in more tax revenue to the government, we have not had another terrorist attack against one of our cities, and we have helped form new democratic governments in Afghanistan and Iraq where there was only fascism before.

Rich I have more than a few friends who demonize Bush (and of course Cheney and Rumsfeld) at every turn. They want to convince themselves that things were so much better back when Democrats held power. Facts be damned. And of course there are plenty of mainstream media outlets that will feed them this distorted view of reality.

If President Clinton was in office during Hurricane Katrina the response off all local, state, and federal agencies would have been exactly the same. But the reporting of it would have been much diffferent.
